Including these three things will improve your Instagram bio to make it more readable and clear in what your business offers. Have you ever clicked onto an Instagram account and had no idea what the page was about?
Now is a good time to review your bio to ensure your readers won’t have that problem when they look at your account.
Think of the bio section of your Instagram profile as your Instagram business card. Like your Facebook cover photo, the bio section provides an opportunity to show off the best features of your vacation rental.
You have just a few seconds to capture the attention of someone visiting your Instagram profile page. Use the bio section to get the reader interested in knowing more about your vacation rental property.
Your bio is a section of your Instagram profile. To edit your bio, click on “Edit Profile” from your Instagram business page. Then, begin improving your Instagram bio section.
Instagram limits the number of characters in the bio. Therefore, you’ll want to consider this limitation when deciding which information you wish to include.
Most importantly, the Instagram bio should provide your readers with a brief description of your vacation rental property.
In addition, list some of the property’s unique amenities (stone fireplace, hot tub, fantastic views, secluded, downtown, etc.).
The number of bedrooms, bathrooms and the number of people your vacation rental sleeps is another bit of useful information.
Here is an example of the bio on my vacation rental’s Instagram account – @asburycottage.
Secondly, icons and hashtags are a unique way to improve your Instagram bio.
By using icons in place of actual words, you’ll have more character spaces available to use in the bio. Additionally, icons make the Instagram bio more eye-catching.
Hashtags are searchable on Instagram, so this provides another way to be found on the platform. Recently, Instagram updated the platform to allow for following hashtags.
Include hashtags that you expect your target audience to be following or searching, such as area attractions, destination city, beach name, etc.
#TrendyTip – create a branded hashtag and use it in your Instagram bio and on your Instagram posts to help promote your business.
Improve your Instagram bio by adding a call-to-action. The call-to-action should direct the reader to a link you have included in the Instagram profile. The profile is the only area that provides a clickable link on your account page.
Words such as “book now,” “book online,” “check rates,” “check availability,” or other click action text encourages the reader to take action.
In addition, Instagram posts can include calls-to-action such as “Link is in the Bio.”
Consider linking directly to a new blog post. Include “Link in Bio” on your Instagram stories promoting your blog. Read my blog post about how to use Instagram stories in your vacation rental business here.
#TrendyTip – You can change the website link in the Instagram profile at any time.
Depending on your call-to-action, you may want to change the link in the Instagram profile. The profile link is a great way to get people onto your email list through a lead magnet link.
Hopefully, you haven’t learned anything new here, and you’re on top of the game when it comes to your Instagram Marketing. However, if you did learn something new, the good news is that it’s easy to make these little changes.
