In this post, I’m going to walk you through step-by-step how to get a domain name and website hosting for your Vacation Rental Business.
It only takes a few minutes and it doesn’t cost as much as you might think. No kidding – ONE booking will pay for it!
This will be one of the most lucrative investments you can make for getting more bookings. Having a branded domain and your own website are something you can’t do without if you want your vacation rental to be successful.
First of all, let’s just be honest.
If you’re really serious about marketing your vacation rental, getting more bookings and boosting your income, you need to have a website with a branded domain.
Without a website and branded domain, you are wasting your time with trying to get your brand to stick with your audience – inquiries, guests and repeat guests. You’re going to be lost in the noise of the internet.
No one is going to remember that your vacation rental is VRBO #123456 – right? Well, unless you’re lucky enough to have #123456. Even I might remember that! But seriously, think about it. No one is going to remember your listing number from any site you are listed.
So, you need to bite the bullet and get serious about your vacation rental business.
Successful businesses have websites with branded domains.
You don’t go to www.website.abc/387239875 to get to google.com. Why should you do that for your vacation rental business? Exactly – you shouldn’t!
All it takes is ONE booking to pay for your webhosting!

There are a multitude of internet domain and website hosting providers. Some you’ve heard of, I’m sure. GoDaddy is one of the big ones.
I have purchased from GoDaddy in the past, but I recently found one I like better. Bluehost is now my domain and website hosting provider of choice.
Use Trendy Hospitality’s Bluehost link and get a 30 day money back guarantee and an introductory offer where you can get your domain and website hosting for less than $4/month! The domain name is FREE! You also get a FREE SSL Certificate (more on that later).
The customer service from Bluehost can’t be beat! I have contacted them and found their response time is superb. They even have an online chat feature, so you won’t even have to make a phone call to customer service.
When you click on the link above, it will take you to a page with each of the plans. I recommend starting out with the basic package. You can always upgrade later. Click on “Select” as shown below.
Next you will be taken to the page where you will select your domain name.
This step is very IMPORTANT!
If you already have a domain and are signing up through Bluehost for your webhosting, then you will want to enter your existing domain name in the box on the right side of the screen.
If you do not have a domain, then you will type in the box on the left side of the screen.
Type the name of the domain and click next. (Cross your fingers that your domain is available!)
The next screen will tell you if your selected domain name is available. If it isn’t, you will need to try a different name.

I don’t recommend selecting a .net or other naming extension. You will be most successful with a .com domain.
Be sure to enter an email address you currently have. In other words, do not use an email that your are planning to create with your new domain.
See that domain name right there?! ↓ I’d snag that if you don’t have one yet!
The cheapest plan will be for 36 months or more. You will be paying for a full year, so determine which term works best for your budget.
Remember, all it takes is ONE booking to pay for your webhosting! So don’t skimp! You’ll be saving money in the long run.
Package extras are optional, but recommended. Click on the “more information” link below each package extra for additional details.
CAUTION: The first time I got a domain, I didn’t select the Domain Privacy Protection and I literally received DOZENS of sales calls each day from all over the WORLD! So, I recommend to at least purchase the Domain Privacy Protection so folks won’t have access to your phone number.
That’s it! You now have a domain and a website hosting service!
Now it’s time to get started creating a website.
