It’s a “no-brainer” that Pinterest boards can give your vacation rental marketing a boost. If you’re in need of inspiration, I’ll give you 12 ideas for boards you can add for your vacation rental Pinterest business page.
In case you haven’t noticed, Pinterest isn’t just for wedding planning and DIY tips anymore. Pinterest has been growing with leaps and bounds and it has recently gone public as a traded stock (PINS). So, it’s not going away anytime soon.
Hopefully, you already have a Pinterest business page for your vacation rental. If not, read my post “Pinterest for Vacation Rentals – How, Why and What”.
Here’s the brief on the “why” part:
Words relating to travel are some of the most searched terms on Pinterest.
According to this article, more than 2x more travelers use Pinterest vs. top online travel agency sites! And they say searches for “small town travel” are up over 276%!
#trendytip: You absolutely need to be taking advantage of this FREE marketing opportunity! If your vacation rental business isn’t on Pinterest, you are wasting VALUABLE internet real estate!
Pinterest is also a great place to pick up some email addresses for potential customers. Pin your Lead Magnet and be sure to add some SEO keywords to the description. My post about lead magnets will give you some ideas.
I’ll be the first to admit it – I’m not real good with pinning on a regular basis to my vacation rental board. It does take time. However, “if you do as I say and not as I do” (haha), you’ll see some traction to your website and you’ll get some bookings.
When you’re pinning on a consistent basis, by repinning other Pinterest content or (best) creating blog posts to pin your own content, your posts will be seen and repinned more frequently by other users.
Overall it’s not all about the number of followers you have. Ultimately, it’s about how many click-throughs you are getting to your website.
#trendytip: Personal pages do not have access to analytics reports – BUSINESS pages do! Don’t rely on your personal page for marketing your vacation rental BUSINESS.
As a result, you can study the analytics to see which pins are getting the most traffic. Then you can adjust your Pinterest marketing efforts accordingly.
In other words, create more pins that resemble the content, titles and/or images from the pins that are performing the best.
Next I’ll give you a few ideas for some Pinterest Board titles that will bring your Vacation Rental to the top of the rankings for your destination.
Oh, and read my bonus Pinterest Board Tip below…
You can include sub-boards with photos of each room, special features, outdoor areas, etc. Be sure to set your best photo as the board's featured pin. Add a description for each pin that includes SEO keywords and a couple hashtags.
Create a general board for your property destination town with things to do, see, events, etc.
Did you know you can create secret Pinterest boards? I have a couple of boards on my Vacation Rental Pinterest business page. One of them is Vacation Rental Guest Amenities. I don't necessarily want my guests to see what other GREAT amenities are being offered, when I might not be in a financial position to add those to my offerings. Another secret board idea is just a Vacation Rental Inspiration board. I use it for potential property updates, vacation rental products, photo staging, etc.
What are some of your board titles? I’d love to take a look at your Pinterest page! I could spend HOURS looking at pins – and sometimes I do! How about you?
